The Challenge
The customer had multiple Recreational Vehicles (RVs) that they used to rent out to families and businesses. The company had trouble in knowing the location of RV’s, fuel level in each RV and if there is any technical glitch in the RV. Many times the RVs were not in a good condition and hence the company lost money in not being able to rent them out due to poor visibility regarding the availability of RVs in rentable condition.
The Solution
The Spagylo Team recommended building a Central Hub for managing all the information about the RVs. An additional mobile App was built that will be installed in the tablets that were kept in every RV. All the required vehicle parameters were transmitted from these tablets to the Central Hub. During instances where there is no internet connectivity, data is stored locally and then transmitted in bulk once internet connectivity is restored. Reports and Dashboards were built to match the needs of various departments like booking, maintenance, customer service etc.
The Results
Due to improved visibility that the system provided, the company was able to increase its vehicle utilization from 70% to 92%. Revenue increased by 20% and customer satisfaction ratings based on the reviews increased from 3.5 to 4.1.
